Seeking Submissions: Charlotte Schmidlapp Essay Contest for EKU Undergraduates

Charlotte Schmidlapp Essay Contest 2022

EKU Women & Gender Studies and the Department of History, Philosophy, & Religious Studies invite applications for three Charlotte Schmidlapp Scholarships. These awards of $1,500, $1,000, and $500 will be deposited into the Eastern Kentucky University accounts of the first-, second-, and third-place winners, respectively. Award winners must be undergraduate students with a Fall 2022 or later graduation date. Essay contest winners will present their full papers at the 15th Herstory Conference in March. 

All essays pertaining to women's and gender-related history (including papers from any discipline with a cultural/historical component) are eligible for consideration. 

Please download, fill out, and return the scholarship application form at wgs.eku.edu/scholarships along with your 300-500 word abstract containing no identifying information to Dr. Lisa Day in EKU Women & Gender Studies (Keith 126) by noon on March 11, 2022. You may also send an email with attachments of the completed application and your unmarked abstract to lisa.day@eku.edu.
